Bourgogne Gamay 2013, Louis Latour


Most of the grapes in this wine are Gamay from Beaujolais cru villages of Fleurie, Chenas and Regnie. The blend also has around 15% Pinot Noir added, and is vinified with some oak contact, for a flavour profile more typical of the MĂcon than of Beaujolais. Raspberry, redcurrant and red cherry characters form the backbone of this wine, while hints of pepper and graphite add a touch of savoury complexity. Try this with a tender slow-roasted pork belly.
